If you’re anywhere near Milwaukee, I highly suggest stopping by Makerfest on October 19th. It’s essentially a showcase for the local Maker Space, allowing the folks who are members there to present their craft to the world. Here’s how they describe it:
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Milwaukee MakerFest is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Milwaukee MakerFest to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
How does this relate to guitar stuff? Well, I will be there in support of ACEffects, who has been building pedals locally and selling them globally since the mid 80’s. Alex at ACEeffects will be giving a demonstration on pedal building and selling some kits to get you started. I’ll be demonstrating the finished product.
If you have any interest in how pedals are built, or maybe you just want to check out what the creative folks in your neighborhood are doing with their spare time, come down.
